Learn the skill of coppicing 

This workshop is aimed at people with an interest in the management of traditional coppiced woodland.

The course is being held in a multi-award winning woodland, the only remaining commercial hazel coppice within Rockingham Forest.

Coppiced woodland has been an essential feature of the Rockingham Forest landscape for hundreds of years.
Why not spend a day learning more about why and how it
still has an importance in the 21st century?

  • Saturday 14th October 2023, 9.30a.m- 4.30p.m

​

  • Rawhaw Wood, Pipewell, NN14 1QZ

  • The workshop will be led by Hugh and Carolyn of Hazel Woodland Products

  •  

  • The day will involve some practical hands-on work and systems of working, including the production of products, marketing, the creation of dead hedges and an overview of the environmental benefits.

​

  • Please bring your own lunch and  wear suitable clothing for working in the outdoors . Also bring your own saw and billhook if you  have them. If not, we can provide.​

​

  • Places are limited to a maximum of 6 people – so please book early to avoid disappointment.​
