We hope that you may be inspired by the vision to connect landscapes, people and wildlife in Rockingham Forest.  In this section of the website you will find ways in which you can become involved more closely, be it by taking part a public event, by becoming a volunteer, by becoming a champion for trees or waterways, or just by keeping in touch by means of our mailing list.

Take part in an event

Here's a list of guided walks, talks, training events and more, all of them taking place in Rockingham Forest in the near future.

Please let us know if you are advertising such events and would like us to help with advertising.

Join the River Wardens

Choose a stretch of local river, stream or brook, and conduct monthly surveys for wildlife and water quality.  Full training and equipment provided

Volunteer to help out

Much of what goes on in the forest can only be achieved because of people freely giving up their time. Here is a list of some of the opportunities to help out over the coming few months.

Become a Tree Warden

New scheme for those who would like to be a tree champion in their parish, community or local area. Get involved and help this project evolve.

Walk in the forest

There is no doubt that the very best way of getting involved with the forest is by walking in it. This page of the website links to online resources providing maps and walking routes to explore for yourself.

Start a Community Orchard Group

Funding and support from North Northants Council for groups and schools  to plant an orchard. Why not start such a group  and a community orchard yourself?
